ABOUT ME
Deacon Adenekan Olugbenga Benson graduated from University of Benin in Benin City, Nigeria with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting in 1980. He joined the Chartered Accountants’ firm of Delloitte Haskin and Sells in 1981 and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria in 1984. He left the firm in 1988 as Audit Supervisor to work with Chevron Nigeria Limited, an oil major in Nigeria and a subsidiary of Chevron Corporation. Deacon Adenekan Olugbenga Benson worked for twelve years in various units of Chevron Nigeria Finance Department as Accountant – Expense Account, Accountant – Treasury, Analyst – Internal Controls, Senior Accountant – Budget & Forecast, Supervisor – Financial and Non-Operating JV Accounting and Supervisor – Special Projects. He was re-assigned in 2003 to the Planning Group as Planning Manager responsible for the NNPC/CNL JV. In 2006, Deacon Benson moved to the Supply Chain Management Division as Manager, Business Management. He later became the Purchasing Manager and retired in 2016 as Procurement Operations Manager for the Escravos Gas-to-Liquid Project. He completed the Advanced Certificate in Supply Chain Management of W.P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University, USA, in 2008. Deacon Benson has attended many technical and management courses in Nigeria and abroad. He is happily married with children and grandchildren
