ABOUT ME
Charles Onyenso is currently the MD/CEO of Rehoboth Microfinance Bank. He was a Partner of Chijih Onyensoh and Company – a firm of Chartered Accountants. He was also the Managing Director/CEO of Coco Consult Limited, a Financial, Management and Risk Management Consultancy outfit. Armed with over 25 years of Accounting, Audit and Risk Management experience that spans both industry, Consultancy, Finance, Taxation, Auditing, Equity and Loans Procurement and Administration, Risk Management, Finance and Banking. He worked in over six (6) National and International banking Groups majoring mostly in Risk Management. Mr. Onyenso’s last stint with paid employment was with Diamond Bank Plc. where he was AGM and Head, Risk Management responsible for Risk Management Policy articulation, regulatory interface, Credit Administration, Loan Monitoring and Collateral Management and Administration. He was later transferred to Head, Credit Analysis and Process where his responsibilities among other included overseeing Credit Analysis and Processing both for Nigeria and for the West African subsidiaries of Benin Republic, Togo, Cote de Ivoire and Senegal. He also saw to risk policy setting and helped to facilitate the credit process the UK subsidiary. Mr. Onyenso’s responsibilities also included Credit Processing in Nigeria. He oversaw Credit Verification, Credit Disbursement, Crafting, Administration, Approval and Control of Credit Product Programs. Before this Charles Onyenso was Head, Corporate Lending in Keystone Bank/Bank PHB in Nigeria supervising lending activities to the Corporate sector and also among others, had an oversight responsibility over the bank’s lending activities of its subsidiaries in Liberia, Gambia, Sierra Leon, and Uganda. He also worked at various times in Equitorial Trust Bank, Devcom Bank (now Sterling Bank), and Standard Trust Bank (now UBA Plc) with various responsibilities mostly in Risk Management. Earlier in his career Mr. Onyenso had worked with Nnamdi Oyeka & Co (Chartered Accountants) where he rose to Team Lead/Audit Senior before branching off to Banking and Risk Management. Charles Onyenso holds a Fellowship of Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and an Associate Member Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He is also a member of Risk Management Association of Nigeria (RIMAN). These were after he had graduated from Abia State University with a B.Sc in Accounting in 1992. Mr Onyenso is an ordained Deacon of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM) and has attended numerous local and international trainings, seminars and workshops.
